Turkish Law on E-Commerce, which passed on 23.10.2014 derives from 2000/31 EC. However, the law was not drafted only in line with 2000/31 EC, but also a step further is taken by adding provisions in favor of the customers.

Turkish Law on E-Commerce is ahead of most of the E-Commerce Laws of European and worldwide countries in terms of customer protection and being customer-friendly. By its punitive provisions, it ceased unsolicited e-mails in Turkey and by doing so it gained the customer’s approval. However, the English version of this law was not published on the internet by open access which would help foreign investors in Turkey to be informed regarding the relevant law.

This project aims the Turkish Law on E-commerce to be understood better by Turkish users and foreing investors in Turkey to be informed regarding the relevant law.
